Senior Electrical Estimator

The Role

We are supporting a leading electrical and utilities contractor who are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to join their expanding pre-construction team. This role will take ownership of the preparation and coordination of accurate, competitive cost estimates across a range of electrical infrastructure projects, including transmission, distribution, renewables and industrial works.

You will work closely with bid, commercial and engineering teams to ensure all tender submissions are technically compliant, commercially robust and aligned with project and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of electrical estimates for transmission, distribution, renewable and industrial projects

• Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation to produce detailed cost breakdowns

• Develop material, labour and equipment take-offs

• Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive and compliant quotations

• Support pricing strategy development, risk assessments and value engineering exercises

• Maintain estimating data, cost libraries and benchmarking information

• Assist with bid reviews, clarifications and post-tender negotiations

• Support project handovers to delivery teams

• Mentor junior estimators and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes

About You

• Degree or Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Building Services or a related discipline

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical estimating within utilities, power or construction

• Strong understanding of LV, MV and HV electrical systems

• Experience estimating electrical infrastructure projects

• Proficient in MS Excel and estimating software (e.g. Candy, ConQuest, CCS or similar)

• Strong commercial awareness with excellent analytical and numerical skills

• Able to manage multiple bids and work to tight deadlines
